Calling whistleblowers “snitches” sets an unfair tone of negativity

In a recent article, the Economist used the term “snitchingto refer to whistleblowers.  It is an unfortunate word that perpetuates the negative view many have of whistleblowers.  The Government Accountability Project (known as GAP), a non-profit advocacy group based in Washington D.C. wrote a reply to the Economist article that highlights the problem that whistleblowers face when bringing serious problems to light.
